My Story
Why I Do This Work
Everyone has a story.
Â
As a young adult, I often felt overwhelmed and anxious—driven by a desire to do the "right" thing, to achieve, and be everything for everyone else.

Working with a therapist helped me begin to understand those patterns and, over time, build healthier ways of relating to myself and others. I often think about how different my life might have been if I hadn't taken that first step.

That experience continues to shape how I approach this work. It's truly an honor to sit with clients as they build self-awareness and create meaningful and lasting change.
My Approach
I believe therapy works best as a collaborative relationship.
Â
The connection we build becomes the foundation for the work—creating a space where you can show up honestly, without fear of judgment, and explore what’s happening beneath the surface.

My style is warm, direct, and practical. I’ll listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and gently challenge you when it’s helpful. Together, we’ll focus on understanding patterns, building insight, and developing strategies that support real, lasting change.

I draw from evidence-based approaches and tailor them to your specific goals. We’ll clarify what you want from therapy and check in regularly to make sure our work is moving you in the right direction.

My Experience & Credentials
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years working in the pharmaceutical, engineering, and tech sectors as an entrepreneur, consultant, and manager. I later worked in nonprofit and group practice settings providing outpatient therapy to adults and couples before starting Weaver Counseling, PLLC. These experiences continue to inform my work, particularly when supporting clients navigating career decisions, workplace challenges, and relationship dynamics.
Â
My work is grounded in both clinical training and real-world experience.
Â
I received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker Associate in North Carolina.Â
Evidence-Based Models
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I draw from a range of evidence-based models to support your individual needs.

Beyond Therapy
Outside the Therapy Office
Outside of the therapy office, I'm a partner, a parent, and involved in my community. I enjoy being active, reading, exploring new places, and a strong cup of coffee. Like many of my clients, I understand the balancing act of work, relationships, and the responsibilities of daily life.
